Damage to your vehicle
What to do in case of a traffic collision
Have you had a collision with another party? Always fill out a European accident report form together with the other party and take photos of the situation and the damage. This way, we can help you quickly and efficiently!
What to do with the
European accident report form
Have you had an accident? Always send us the European accident report form, regardless of whether it involves another vehicle, cyclist, pedestrian, fixed object, or animal. Complete the front of the form together with the other party, describing how the accident happened, the extent of the damage, who was injured, and take photos of the situation and the damage.
When and why do you call the
Police
In serious situations, always call 112, for example, if there is serious injury, death, or danger from another vehicle. For serious traffic violations, call 0900-8844. Always report a vehicle theft without leaving information or if your car is broken into. If your car or motorcycle is stolen, call the Stolen Vehicle Reporting Office: 088-008 74 44.
I had a collision with a
Wild animal
Have you hit a wild animal, such as a deer, wolf, or wild boar? Always report this to the police at 0900-8844, even if the animal ran off. Wildaanrijding.nl explains exactly what to do and what not to do. Good to know: if your car has Limited or Fully Comprehensive coverage, the damage caused by a collision with an animal will be covered – without affecting your no-claims bonus.
What should I do in case of a
Single-vehicle collision
Have you sustained one-sided damage, for example, by hitting a traffic sign or post? Always report this, even if you only have third-party liability insurance. The municipality can recover the damages from you.
Are you our
Opposing party?
Have you had an accident with a vehicle insured with us, and is our client liable? Good news: even with only third-party liability insurance, you can now report your damage directly to your own car insurer. They will often handle the damage for you and later recover it from us. This is called Direct Claims Handling .
You can also choose to activate your legal expenses insurance. To assess your claim, we will need a completed European claim form and a quote from the repair shop. Simply upload these documents using our upload form (option "Claim"), or choose your preferred method on the Service and Contact page. If we appoint a claims adjuster, we will, of course, let you know.

You choose one of these companies and easily schedule an appointment online. Select the nearest body shop here.

What if my vehicle is
Stolen
Has your car or trailer been stolen? Report it immediately to the National Stolen Vehicle Reporting Office (AGV) at 088 - 66 28 288. This office is available 7 days a week. Keep your vehicle registration certificate, reporting code, and driver's license handy – this increases the chance of your vehicle being recovered.
Moped, scooter, or speed pedelec stolen? Report it easily online via the Vehicle Crime Insurance Bureau (VbV). You'll find step-by-step instructions there.
What to do in case of an uninsured or
Unknown perpetrator
Was your car hit by another vehicle and did the person responsible drive away or not have insurance? Then you may be able to claim compensation from the Motor Vehicle Guarantee Fund.
Make sure you gather the necessary evidence: report the accident to the police immediately, record any witnesses, and take clear photos of the damage. This increases your chances of the Guarantee Fund being able to compensate you.
