Zelfzeker's privacy statement and cookie policy apply to all data processing and to our websites and apps.
Who are we?
Zelfzeker is a trade name of Clascon BV, located in Eindhoven and registered in the trade register under number 17095709. Zelfzeker is an execution-only broker of non-life insurance. We help individuals become and remain well-insured.
Zelfzeker's privacy statement and cookie policy apply to all data processing and to our websites and apps. Certain services or tools may include a specific privacy statement, which provides further details in addition to this general privacy statement.
Zelfzeker considers the protection of your personal data to be very important. We respect the privacy of our customers, visitors, and users of our websites and apps. We ensure that your personal data is handled and secured with the utmost care. We comply with all laws and regulations regarding the protection of personal data, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What personal data do we process?
We process, among other things, the following personal data:
- first and last name
- address, place of residence
- phone number
- email address
- salutation
- date of birth
- bank account number (IBAN)
- areas of interest
Purposes of data processing
Zelfzeker processes personal data for the following purposes:
- Legal obligation - Some of our processing is legally required, for example under tax legislation.
- Delivery and maintenance of insurance (agreement) - When you take out insurance from Zelfzeker
If you purchase data and you enter into an agreement with us (by telephone or via our websites/apps), we will record this and the history surrounding it. - Newsletters, emails, and member retention (legitimate interest/consent) - We inform you about relevant developments in insurance, duty of care, life events, and also about our (new) products and services. We do this if you are a Zelfzeker customer or if you have given permission. To ensure you receive content that is relevant to you, we may combine data from different sources. We consider your preferences based on purchased products and/or services and your interests based on recorded use of our websites/apps. We also engage in customer retention activities. If you no longer wish to receive information about (new) products, services, and newsletters from us, or if you prefer to be called by us, you can inform us at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email we send you.
- Service Improvement Zelfzeker (legitimate interest / consent) - We analyze click behavior on our website and in newsletters to see which articles and pages are read and visited most, and click behavior on emails to determine whether our newsletters are relevant to the recipient. We use this data solely for statistical purposes (to conduct analyses). In our CRM system, we only record that a newsletter or mailing has been sent to a customer (or lead) and, if so, that the message has been opened. We also test our website using various tools specialized in testing. This allows us to make our website pages more readable for visitors.
- Contact (agreement/consent) - When you contact us, we record contact details. For example, during phone calls (for training and quality assurance purposes) or via emails you receive from us. This also applies when you complete the contact form, use the chat function, participate in surveys, contests, or (panel) studies, contact us through websites/apps, log in to your account, or contact us via social media.
Processors and third-party recipients
To the extent that Zelfzeker uses a third party (as a processor of personal data) for the above-mentioned purposes, any other (commercial) use of your personal data by this third party is not permitted, unless you authorize that third party to do so.

To prevent misuse, we ask you to identify yourself by sending a copy of a valid ID with your Citizen Service Number (BSN) and passport photo blacked out. You can use the KopieID app for this, for example.
The Dutch government uses this data. When you submit a request to us, we will ensure it is processed within one month. If we are unable to process your request within this period, we will notify you.
Security and retention period
Zelfzeker handles the personal data you entrust to us with care. We ensure that your data is properly secured and that only authorized individuals within Zelfzeker have access to it. Zelfzeker retains your personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes mentioned above or to comply with its legal (retention) obligations. The data may be retained (anonymized) for longer periods for statistical purposes.
Security Declaration (CVD notification)
Zelfzeker takes the utmost care in the security of its systems. Nevertheless, vulnerabilities in our systems may exist. If you discover one, please let us know. We will then take appropriate action as quickly as possible.
International exchange of personal data
Zelfzeker does not transfer personal data to countries outside the EEA (European Economic Area; European Union and Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein).
Apps
If Zelfzeker offers its services via an app, personal data of
you collect and process. The collection and processing of personal data via apps is also covered by this privacy statement and the cookie statement. For proper functioning, when installing an app, permission is requested to access and process certain personal data.
Chat apps
